This Sunday, we will be celebrating Holy Communion. For the first time, we will do this online.
Communion is a special meal which reminds us of Jesus’ life, death and resurrection. The bread and juice become, symbolically, the body and blood of Christ. Communion is meant to be celebrated in community, as a Church.
Before the church service starts, we ask that you prepare pieces of bread for you and anyone else in your home who is sharing in the service. If you have grape juice or wine, you can pour yourself a glass. If not, water will do just fine.
During the service, we will all pray the Communion prayer. We will then eat communion, together online but each of us in our own homes. If you want to talk about the theology of this, I’m happy to discuss it anytime.
We will wait to eat and drink together, as a sign of unity.
There are a couple of ways you can join the church service. The first is by Facebook live. You can go the Grace United Church Facebook group. The live broadcast will begin at 10 am.
You can also join by Zoom. This is the link for the Zoom meeting: https://us04web.zoom.us/j/
